Why UW? Reason no. 3: Social and business activity

To study at the University does not mean to resign from your plans about founding a firm or making a contribution to your community. Students of the UW are receiving grants to create an app, they are learning about offers of the first internship or job in the Careers Office, and are preparing integrative events for academic community within the confines of the Projekt Powiśle.

Why UW? Reason no. 2: Science projects available already during studies

Sometimes great ideas for innovations come to minds of people who do not even have a title of bachelor yet. University of Warsaw creates friendly environment for them. Hundreds of scientific circles, possibility of taking part in science competition, and cooperation with experienced teams of researchers – that is the way to fulfill ambitions of young students. Following that path will be easier thanks to special grants and scholarships.

Why UW? Reason no. 1: The broad educational offer

Approximately 45,400 people study at the University of Warsaw. The candidates are offered a very broad range of courses in the fields of humanities, social sciences and natural sciences, as well as many interdisciplinary courses combining knowledge and skills of many disciplines.

Reduced accommodation fee

In June and July, just like in the last few months, students and doctoral candidates of the University of Warsaw will pay less for their accommodation in residence halls. According to the rector’s order as of 3rd June 2020, accommodation fee will be reduced by 50%.

Visiting Lecturer Grants – competition results

Under The University’s Integrated Development Programme, in the next academic year the University will host a total of 23 researchers from various foreign universities and representing different scientific disciplines. They will join the education of first- and second-cycle students and long cycle students, share their didactic experience with the UW staff and present the results of their research during open lectures and seminars with doctoral students.

Latest information and advice for the UW community during the coronavirus pandemic

On 21st May, the UW rector issued a new order on rules for studying and working at UW. Online teaching and learning will continue, except classes which cannot be conducted remotely. It is possible to work from home, according to a duty system or flexible working hours. The health, safety and well-being of members of the UW community remain the university’s priority.
