Library

The University of Warsaw Library (BUW) is situated not far from the city centre –  in Powiśle district in the vicinity of the Old Town and Vistula river. It is only 10 minutes walking distance from the main Campus of the University in Krakowskie Przedmieście and the Royal Route. There is a convenient bus connection. Three buses (106, 118, 127) stop right next to the Library. It is very easy to get here from the airport or from other outlying suburbs (you must get to Krakowskie Przedmieście and walk the escarpment down).

To be able to use the library, you will need to have your student ID with you. Read here how to receive it

Apart from the large collection of books, journals and other study and research materials, you will be able to access computers, printers and copy machines there. Don’t forget to visit the rooftop garden to relax and enjoy a panoramic view of the city after you are done studying!

A large part of UW collection of books, journals and other resources is available in libraries located in the majority of faculties or institutes. Please contact your receiving unit about access, opening hours and rules of using the libraries. Here you can find a list of UW faculties.

If you are not a student or employee of the University of Warsaw, as a visitor you may access the collections only on the premises, without the right to borrow books to take home
