December is that month in which we want to make others happy even more. Additionally, on December 3 we celebrate the eighth birthday of the Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw and on December 5 International Volunteer Day*! That is why this year VC UW has prepared a special December program of events and actions for you. As you can see below, diverse possibilities await you!

1) Online meeting: Not only Skłodowska-Curie: Women in Science

During her presentation, Diana – VC UW volunteer from the Faculty of Biology will introduce us to herstories of the great minds. VC UW invites everyone who is interested in the history of academia and thought.

2) Online workshop: Polish Language Survival Lesson with @mypolishteacher

3) Online meeting: Book Talk: Back to Childhood

Long evenings are a good occasion to spend some time reading. Why don’t we go on a journey back in time to talk about our favourite childhood books? Marta, student of the Faculty of Management and VC UW volunteer, invites UW and MUW students for such a trip.

ACTIONS
1) Mission: Christmas Card
Just as every year, the Volunteer Centre of UW organizes a special mission before Christmas! This time VC UW invites you to send wishes which will be delivered to seniors staying in the Nursing Home of the Society of St. Francis de Sales in Warsaw.
Wishes and virtual cards can be sent to VC UW until December 15 (inclusive)
2) Action: Filling In Pets’ Bellies
This year, as every previous one, the Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw would like to encourage you to support cats and dogs from the shelters!
It’s simple – bring a packet of animal food. You can also bring tick droppers (neither collars nor sprays). The main collection point is at the Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw in the University of Warsaw Library (ground floor, behind the Poster Gallery).
You can visit VC UW from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
The action lasts until January 28!
