Changes in the functioning of the University of Warsaw during the pandemic

Due to the fact that Warsaw was classified to the red zone, the Rector of the University of Warsaw issued a new ordinance defining the principles of university functioning. Pursuant to the resolution, the following are added to the previous document in this regard (order of the Rector of the University of Warsaw No. 217 of 29^th September, 2020):

EDUCATION:

classes at first and second cycle studies and uniform master’s studies are conducted only remotely;
classes at doctoral studies, doctoral school, postgraduate studies, as well as courses and training are conducted only remotely;
only practical classes may be held at the facilities of the University of Warsaw, pursuant to the order of the head of the educational unit. The list of these classes will be announced by 20^th October 2020 by the heads of educational units;
exams and credits at the end of classes and diploma exams are conducted only remotely;

ORGANISATION OF EVENTS:

the organisation of public events, meetings, assemblies and celebrations at the University of Warsaw attended by more than 10 people is suspended;
in particularly justified cases, it is allowed to organise events, meetings, gatherings and ceremonies of a cultural or scientific nature in the facilities of the University of Warsaw with seats, provided that every fourth seat is made available to participants. The distance between participants should be at least two meters, and the number of people in the room cannot exceed 25% of the number of seats;

MEETINGS OF CORPORATE BODIES AND COLLEGAL ENTITIES OF THE UW:

meetings of the corporate bodies and colleges of the University of Warsaw and other bodies take place only remotely;

DOCTORAL EXAMS AND HABILITATION COLLOQUIUMS:

doctoral examinations in doctoral dissertations initiated by 30^th April 2019 in the field of the basic discipline corresponding to the topic of the doctoral dissertation, additional discipline and a modern foreign language, scientific discipline examinations in proceedings for awarding the doctoral degree initiated after 30^th September 2019, defending doctoral dissertations, meetings habilitation committees and habilitation tests are conducted only remotely;

SUMMER SCHOOLS:

summer student and doctoral schools may only be held remotely;

WORK ORGANIZATION AT UW:

the head of the organizational unit may order the employee to work remotely;
work organization should minimize the presence of more than one employee in a given room;
