In June and July, just like in the last few months, students and doctoral candidates of the University of Warsaw will pay less for their accommodation in residence halls. According to the rector’s order as of 3rd June 2020, accommodation fee will be reduced by 50%.

Visiting Lecturer Grants – competition results
Under The University’s Integrated Development Programme, in the next academic year the University will host a total of 23 researchers from various foreign universities and representing different scientific disciplines. They will join the education of first- and second-cycle students and long cycle students, share their didactic experience with the UW staff and present the results of their research during open lectures and seminars with doctoral students.

Latest information and advice for the UW community during the coronavirus pandemic
On 21st May, the UW rector issued a new order on rules for studying and working at UW. Online teaching and learning will continue, except classes which cannot be conducted remotely. It is possible to work from home, according to a duty system or flexible working hours. The health, safety and well-being of members of the UW community remain the university’s priority.
Online meeting with the UW Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Teaching
On 14th May at noon, Prof. Jolanta Choińska-Mika, the UW Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Teaching, will be answering frequently asked questions on the current study-related matters, e.g. upcoming examination period, exams and credits, as well as changes to the academic calendar. The meeting will be held live on the UW profile on Facebook.
Rules for conducting online exams
The UW Rector decided on the rules for conducting remote exams. In a new rector’s order, there is information regarding, e.g. IT tools that can be used to control the course of exams and their registration.
Changes in the academic calendar
Due to the limited functioning of the University of Warsaw during the coronavirus pandemic, the Rector of the University of Warsaw issued a decision on changing the organization of the ongoing academic year. It applies in particular to teaching classes in the summer semester and the summer examination session.

Message regarding financial support for students and doctoral candidates
On 22nd April, Prof. Jolanta Choińska-Mika, the UW Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Teaching issued a notice, dedicated to students and doctoral candidates, informing them, among other things, how to submit applications for social scholarships, scholarships for persons with disabilities or allowances. The notice also contains information on the rules for granting them.
Extension of the deadline for Visiting Lecturer Grants
Due to epidemic restrictions and difficulties in the circulation of documents, the deadline for submitting applications in the competition for the position of visiting lecturer was extended to May 6, 2020.
