We are delighted to announce that the INSIGHT project — submitted by a consortium of four institutions, including the University of Warsaw — has been awarded funding under the Erasmus+ KA220-HED call for Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education! The project will be carried out by a consortium of four institutions:
- University of Warsaw
- Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic) – project coordinator
- European University Foundation (Luxembourg)
- Université Paris-Est Créteil (France)
At the UW, the project is coordinated by Welcome Point. With our central role in supporting adaptation, integration, and international cooperation of our diversed community, we are positioned to lead UW’s involvement in the project.
The project will run for three years, from November 1, 2025, to October 31, 2028.
Project Goal
The aim of INSIGHT is to enhance the internationalization of higher education institutions (HEIs) by providing better support for international students, PhD candidates, staff, and researchers – groups that often lack sufficient systemic assistance.
Strengthening University Support Systems
The project focuses on strengthening university offices and units that work with international students and researchers by developing a comprehensive support model that facilitates everyday adaptation, cultural integration, and participation in academic and social life.
However, INSIGHT goes beyond paperwork – it is about creating spaces for relationship-building, shared learning, and intercultural exchange.
Key Student-Centred Activities
- Tandem programs (pairing local and international students)
- Cultural and integration events
- Development workshops supporting well-being and cultural adaptation
- Courses, including a summer school and a virtual exchange
- Podcasts, videos, and e-flyers promoting multiculturalism
An important part of the project will be training for university staff who work with international students and employees – with a focus on digital competencies and intercultural communication. The project will also include study visits aimed at exchanging experience and good practices among partner institutions.
Long-Term Impact
Thanks to INSIGHT, universities will not only attract more international students, but also create cohesive, supportive, and open academic environments. The project will also provide support for individuals affected by conflict or crisis situations. Through its recommendations and outcomes, INSIGHT will have a lasting impact not only on the four partner institutions but also on other universities participating in the Erasmus+ programme – particularly the 95 HEIs affiliated with the European University Foundation.
