Improve at IMPROV: 3rd Edition of Integration Meetings for UW Employees

Welcome Point, in collaboration with the School of Impro and the Centre of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners “Polonicum”, invites all University of Warsaw employees — both Polish and international — to join the third edition of our theatre improvisation workshop series!

Two previous editions of our improv programme — Become a Pro at Impro and Improve at Improv — have already brought together over 30 university employees across 16 lively sessions.

Our goal in creating this course is to recognise the importance of personal growth alongside professional development — supporting not only your career, but also your mental wellbeing and creative expression. These workshops are a space to relax after work, shake off stress, and reconnect with yourself and others in an open atmosphere. Whether you’re new to improv or just curious to try something different, this is a welcoming place where everyone is encouraged to participate — no acting experience needed!

  • LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION: Classes will be conducted in English — at least B1 level is required.
  • GROUP: Up to 16 people, including both international and Polish UW employees. We welcome employees of all job positions, seniority, and cultural backgrounds. The group includes both academic and non-academic staff. We also aim to maintain a balance with at least 40% of participants being international and 40% Polish employees.

Class objectives:

  • Integrate with international and Polish employees to build a stronger community
  • Boost your English (or Polish!) in a natural way
  • Improve your communication and listening skills
  • Gain self-confidence and unlock creativity
  • Learn to think quickly and let go of perfectionism
  • Build trust and empathy in a group
* Important: During the workshop you will be engaging in group activities that may involve louder sounds and a dynamic pace. Please consider this before deciding to join the course and let us know if you have any special preferences that will help you participate.

Trainers:

Founded in 2012, the School of Impro is the first and longest-running institution in Poland dedicated to teaching theatrical improvisation. Its courses are led by seasoned performers from Warsaw’s theater scene, who bring extensive experience and insights gained from training with renowned figures in the global improvisation community, including iO Theatre Chicago, Second City Chicago, and the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York.
