Communication and Multiculturalism [workshop]

Welcome Point would like to invite you to the workshop on communication and multiculturalism dedicated to international long term students who would like to learn more about  Poland, city of Warsaw, culture shock experience, communication in multicultural environment, and plenty more.

The main goal of this free event is to provide newcomers with tools that will ease their life in a new place at the very beginning, when help is much needed.

During the workshop students will work on their communicational and social skills in order to cope better in various situations such us:

  • meeting new people
  • arguing effectively
  • giving feedback in both professional and private situations
  • solving misunderstandings between people
  • teamwork in multicultural environment
  • and much, much more

Our workshops will consist of two integral parts: cultural and communicational. During both segments of the workshop you will be introduced to various theories concerning culture and get the practical tools to understand it.

Furthermore, we will discuss the concept of culture shock as well as concept of culture in general. And, what might be of real importance to you, we will also talk a little about our University and its different units.

There will be a part entirely dedicated to the subject of communication and ways in which cultural differences influence our everyday relations. You will also learn how to work in team and give constructive feedback to your teammates – the skills which will be useful through whole your academic and professional career.

Both workshops will take place in the building of University of Warsaw Library (56/66 Dobra Street) on both days from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Please, note that there is no possibility of attending only a part or only one day of the workshop.

Cultural Orientation Workshop (25 – 26 of October) is organized within the Integrated Development Programme at the University of Warsaw and is funded by European Social Fund.
