We are delighted to announce that the graduation ceremony for the Pathway to UW programme – a preparatory programme for participants of Palestinian descend, took place on September 16th, 2025. The programme was initiated by His Magnificence Rector of the University of Warsaw, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, together with His Excellency the Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Poland, Dr. Mahmoud Khalifa. The ceremony was opened by Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Teaching and Learning, Prof. Maciej Raś, who supervised the programme.
A total of 13 participants joined the programme, and 9 successfully completed it with excellent final exam results. On October 1st, 2025, they began first- and second-cycle studies at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies and the Faculty of Physics at the University of Warsaw
Programme Curriculum
- English language classes provided by the teachers from Centre for Foreign Language Teaching, University of Warsaw
- Polish language classes – provided by teachers from Centre of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners Polonicum, University of Warsaw
- Subject-specific courses – delivered by professors from Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, Faculty of Physics, and Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw
- Workshops – on personal development and adaptation to life in Poland, organised by professionals from the University Volunteer Centre, University of Warsaw
Support for programme participants from Gaza
Despite the difficult circumstances, 3 participants joined online from Gaza, attending remote English and Polish classes and receiving psychological support through the UW Psychological Support Centre. The University of Warsaw, in cooperation with the Embassy of the State of Palestine, continues its dedicated efforts to ensure their safe arrival in Poland.
Volunteer and Institutional Support
- University Volunteer Centre, University of Warsaw – professionals organised integrational workshops, while 6 volunteers assisted with airport pickups, accommodation, language support, and cultural integration (including city walks, workshops, and a film screening at Kino Muranów)
- Psychological Support Centre, University of Warsaw – providing consultations and dedicated workshops
- Admissions Office, University of Warsaw – supporting participants throughout the enrollment process
