We publish the ordinance of the Rector of the University of Warsaw of June 18 regarding the functioning of the University of Warsaw from 1st July 2021.
On 18th June, prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the rector of the University of Warsaw, in view of the improvement in the epidemic situation in Poland and the widespread availability of vaccinations against COVID-19 and the easing of restrictions at the national level, issued an order on the functioning of the University of Warsaw in the state of the COVID-19 epidemic. The document concerns the return to the stationary functioning of the University, including the return to stationary work by the university administration, conducting doctoral examinations, as well as organizing summer schools, integration meetings and meetings of University bodies.
Regulation No. 98 of the Rector of the University of Warsaw of 18th June 2021 on the functioning of the University of Warsaw in the COVID-19 epidemic, introduces the following rules for the functioning of the University:
- Since 1st July 2021, the University of Warsaw has been operating on general terms, i.e. full-time. However, due to the persistence of the COVID-19 epidemic in Poland caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus infections, certain exceptions to the rule have been introduced until further notice, according to which, in justified cases, remote work as well as remote meetings of individual bodies at the University of Warsaw are possible.
- Each member of the community of the University of Warsaw and other persons staying at the University are required to comply with the hygienic and sanitary requirements resulting from applicable law as well as the recommendations and guidelines of the Chief Sanitary Inspector.
- People who are infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus or who have at least one of the symptoms characteristic of COVID-19, as well as members of the UW community who live with people infected with SARS-CoV-2 or who have symptoms of characteristic of this disease.
- The following persons are not permitted on University premises: those infected with SARS-CoV-2 or who have experienced even one of the symptoms characteristic of COVID-19, and members of the UW community who live with persons infected with SARS-CoV-2 or who have symptoms characteristic of the disease.
- As regards public events, it was indicated that with the prior consent of the relevant head of the organizational unit or the chancellor, the University of Warsaw may host: public events, meetings, integration, cultural and scientific events, gatherings and celebrations. Including: conferences, symposia and scientific seminars, open lectures, meetings of university student and doctoral organizations, Students’ Council and Doctoral Students’ Council, as well as courses and training.
- The changes also concern the operation and access to the collection in a stationary mode by the University of Warsaw Library and other libraries functioning at the University of Warsaw. However, some of the collections may be made available in an unmanned mode. BUW is obligatorily open to users also on Saturdays and Sundays.
