Introduction to the USOSweb, November 20th

For whom?
The course is intended for UW international employees using the USOS system, especially academic teachers.
An employee is understood as a person hired on the basis of employment contracts.

Intercultural communication and cultural adaptation at UW, November 14th
Date: November 14th, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm (coffee break included)
Place: Faculty of Modern Languages, Dobra 55 st.
Trainer: Aleksandra Winiarska, PhD, Institute of Applied Social Sciences
During the workshop we will:
- explore different communication styles and assumptions concerning everyday cooperation in the academic context,
- discuss possible misunderstandings in intercultural communication,
- find out about the concept of Global Dexterity,
- discuss the challenges to cultural adaptation at UW,
- develop some useful strategies to bridge differences.
For whom?
The training is dedicated to the international employees at University of Warsaw, hired on the basis of employment contracts, especially the academics. Introduction to academic culture at UW – November 7th
Date: November 7th, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm (coffee break included)

During the workshop we will:
- decode some important values, norms and expectations at UW,
- explore differences and similarities in academic cultures,
- find out what to expect in our everyday work at UW,
- discuss the (potential) challenges to adaptation,
- develop some solutions and good practices.

International employees, especially researchers, who have recently joined UW.
