Rector’s announcement on submitting applications for a place in the student dormitory by students, doctoral students and doctoral students, examining applications and accommodation in student dormitories for the academic year 2021/2022:
Pursuant to § 1 section 2 and § 2 of Annex 5 to the Regulations of benefits at the University of Warsaw, the following is announced:
1. Form of submitting the application
The application is submitted in the form of an electronic document by the USOSweb – the application submitted in this form is authenticated in a way that ensures the possibility of confirming the origin and integrity of the data in electronic form.
2. Deadlines for submitting applications for students
The application for a place in the student dormitory for the academic year 2021/2022 should be submitted:
a) by 9th August 2021 – for current students [1];
b) within 10 days of gaining access to USOSweb – in the case of students admitted to the first year of studies (uniform master’s degree, first and second cycle studies)
[1] Students of the third year of the 1st cycle who plan to continue their studies at the University of Warsaw should submit their applications by this deadline.
3. Deadlines for submitting applications for doctoral students
The application for a place in the student dormitory for the academic year 2021/2022 should be submitted:
a) until 2nd August 2021 – for current PhD students;
b) within 10 days of gaining access to USOSweb – in the case of doctoral students and PhD students admitted to the first year of education at the Doctoral School.
4. Deadlines for considering applications for students
Applications for a place in the student dormitory will be considered on the following dates:
a) 23rd August 2021 – current students who submitted a complete application by 9th August 2021 at the latest;
b) on 10th September 2021 – students admitted to the first year of all types of studies (uniform master’s degree, first and second cycle studies) who submitted a complete application within 10 days of gaining access to USOSweb;
c) 17th September 2021 – in the case of vacancies, to all students who did not submit their applications within the prescribed time limit and to persons who applied for a place again via the USOSweb.
5. Deadlines for considering applications for PhD students and PhD students
Applications for a place in the student dormitory will be considered on the following dates:
a) 27th August 2021 – current doctoral students and doctoral students who submitted a complete application by August 2, 2021 at the latest;
b) 22nd September 2021 – PhD students and PhD students enrolled in the first year of education at the Doctoral School who submitted a complete application within 10 days of gaining access to USOSweb;
c) 27th September 2021 – in the case of vacancies, to all doctoral students and PhD students who did not submit their applications within the prescribed time limit, and those who applied for the re-allocation of a place by the USOSweb.
6. Accommodation in student dormitories
Persons who will be granted places in student dormitories will be able to stay in the period from 15th September 2021 to 5th October 2021.
7. Exchange of places
Students as well as PhD students may exchange their allocated places in student dormitories on the market place via the USOSweb from 28th August 2021 to 14th September 2021.
8. Token registration for Student’s Dormitory from the pool of free places.
In the academic year 2021/2022, applying for a place in the dormitory from the pool of free places will be held online via the Registration, like the registration for exams or classes at the University of Warsaw. Follow the website of the Student Welfare and Support Office for deadlines and rules.
Important note: Only people who have not yet been allocated a place in the dormitory can apply for a room from the pool of free places.
