On November 30, 2018 in warm and cosy atmosphere Meeting for New International Doctoral Students at the UW took place.
The aim of the meeting was simple – to provide all the newcomers with information necessary to find themselves not only at the University of Warsaw itself, but also in Poland in general.
Coffee steam was still in the air when Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Teaching, prof. Jolanta Choińska-Mika, took the floor. She greeted all the attendees and expressed happiness that so many candidates from abroad choose the University as their place of study. Later, all participants introduced themselves and talked briefly about their field of interests and their backgrounds.
After all refilled their teacups and had a bite of some delicious cake Welcome Point’s team (Katarzyna Basisty and Bartosz Krzymiński) discussed their presentation. Plenty of subjects were talked about: from general information about Poland and Warsaw, through University’s structure, all the way to complicated matters of health insurance and legalisation of stay in Poland.
Then a representative from the Office for Doctoral and Post-diploma Studies, Michał Morski, took the floor and talked in detail about his office and what it can offer to students in need.
Later on students went for a guided tour around the Main Campus. Luckly, the sun was still up so they could fully admire historical seat of the UW.
