Start the new academic year with new skills and contacts!
The Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw invites students of the University of Warsaw to intercultural workshops, which will take place on October 10th as part of the third edition of the #interlab+ project of the Foundation for the Development of the Education System*.
This is a great opportunity to develop your intercultural communication skills, navigate more confidently in the university’s international environment, and meet students from different faculties.
The workshops will be led by an intercultural skills trainer with many years of experience working with the international academic community.
Applications are open until 7 October – places are limited, so make sure to secure your spot soon!
When & where
10 October (Friday) 2025, at 9:30 am. – 3:30 pm.
Place: The Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw (Warsaw University Library [BUW] building, Dobra 56/66)
By taking part in the workshops, you will learn, among other things:
- what the basic theories of intercultural communication are,
- how culture influences perception and attitudes towards the world,
- what the dimensions of culture are and how they shape differences between cultures.
Participants will receive certificates.
Who can take part?
Polish and international students of the University of Warsaw – regardless of year or field of study.
Practical information:
- The workshops will be conducted in English (minimum B2 level required).
- The workshop is designed as a shared journey of group learning. To make sure everyone gets the most out of it – both individually and together – we kindly ask all participants to take part in the whole event.
- Around 20 students will take part in the workshop, and its format will require interaction with others. Please bear this in mind before applying.

About the trainer
Katarzyna Kucharska
A graduate of the Institute of Polish Culture at the University of Warsaw and the Graduate School for Social Research at Lancaster University. She studied cultural anthropology at the University of Amsterdam and has completed numerous training courses in cultural animation, intercultural skills, and anti-discrimination practices. Since 2013 she has been working at the University of Warsaw as a project coordinator focusing on strengthening the university’s multicultural potential, as well as an intercultural skills trainer for both Polish and international members of the academic community.
She works with students and staff of higher education institutions from almost all over the world. In her practice, she combines academic knowledge, hands-on experience from everyday university life, and workshop methods tailored to participants’ needs. She specialises in intercultural skills useful in academic settings and in building connections within groups composed of people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Across all her projects and activities at the university, she focuses on strengthening agency and a sense of belonging among international students, as well as raising awareness of intercultural differences that may affect everyday interactions within the university community.
