Cultural Orientation Training for the International Staff of the University

Together with the Human Resources Office we would like to invite all international staff of the UW to our Cultural Orientation Training.

Date: 25-26/03/2021, 4 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

Trainer: Katarzyna Kucharska, The Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw

The main goal of the training is to get participants acquainted with elements and mechanisms of Polish culture that will facilitate everyday life in Poland, as well as daily work in the Polish Higher Educational Institution. In order to reach the goal, the training is designed in an interactive and practical mode, participants will be able to share their experiences and concerns connected with relocation and interaction with Polish culture.

After completing the training, Participants will be acquainted with following the topics:

  • The various stages of the relocation process and working abroad, for instance culture shock
  • “dos and don’ts” in Polish culture
  • Typical Polish traditions and important dates
  • Communication styles connected with Polish academic traditions
  • How and where specific matters and issues should be addressed at the University of Warsaw
