On 1st of April the National Census of Population and Housing has begun. This is a unique survey because covers all people living in Poland, regardless of their origin or status. Only on its basis it is possible to define the national, ethnic and religious diversity of the country. The opportunity to count the inhabitants of Poland happens once in 10 years. Everyone counts, because public institutions need knowledge to plan and carry out their activities supporting religious diasporas, ethnic and national minorities and foreigners living in Poland.
Taking part in the Census is obligatory!
Pursuant to Polish law, each person residing in the territory of Poland is obliged to participate in the National Census of Population and Housing. This also applies to international students and doctoral candidates who reside in Poland, as of 31st of March 2021.
How to take part?
The basic way to participate in the survey is to fill in the form on the governmental website. This can be done on a computer, phone or other mobile device. Persons who will not be able to register themselves via the Internet will be listed by phone or directly by a census taker. You can also call the census hotline at 22 279 99 99 and make a report by phone.
Be confident about your safety!
The census does not address the question of the basis and legality of the person`s residence in Poland! Participation in the survey is completely anonymous and safe for every person living and staying in Poland. The absolute confidentiality of data is guaranteed by statistical disclosure, the breach of which is punishable by imprisonment of up to 3 years. In the over 100-year history of the Statistics Poland, no breach of statistical disclosure has occurred.
