Recruitment schedule for Doctoral Schools

Doctoral Schools have already announced their recruitment schedule for the academic year 2022/2023. There are 330 places waiting for future PhD students in 25 scientific disciplines. 

Doctoral Schools of UW offer four-year education in various disciplines in humanities, social sciences, exact and natural sciences as well as interdisciplinary fields. Each doctoral candidate in doctoral schools is obliged to follow their Individual Research Plan (after first year). They carry out research in an individual unit their supervisor is employed in. Doctoral candidates’ progress and supervisors’ work are subject to mid-term evaluation. All UW doctoral schools offer full educational programs in the English language. All doctoral candidates receive a monthly scholarship.

APPLICATION PROCESS

At the beginning of admissions to a doctoral school of the University of Warsaw a candidate should find a supervisor who will be ready to take care of them and their research project. The supervisor’s name and their declaration of readiness to take up the function should be submitted in the Internet Recruitment of Candidates system – IRK.

Looking for a supervisor, one can use a special browser that contains a list of academics who want to act as supervisors.

  1. register to the Internet Recruitment of Candidates System – IRK
  2. select a doctoral school and check detailed requirements
  3. submit documents in the system

Application deadlines:

Examinations and interviews will take place in April, June and July depending on the Doctoral School.
