Ombudsman

Sometimes you find yourself in a difficult situation and the solution seems impossible to find. If you are a party to an argument or a conflict with another student or university staff and would like to receive professional help to find the best way to solve your problem, you can contact the Ombudsman. Anti-discrimination and equal treatment policy

The University of Warsaw counteracts and responds to discrimination and unequal treatment cases. For this purpose, the Rector’s Committee for Preventing Discrimination and the position of Equal Opportunity Chief Specialist were established at the University.

The Committee’s main goal is to ensure equal treatment of everyone at the University and to fight against all forms of discrimination, particularly on grounds of age, race, religion, disability, or sexual orientation.

Those who work or study at the University and have experienced, or witnessed, discrimination are asked to report these incidents to the Equal Opportunity Chief Specialist office, or directly to the members of the Committee.

Members of the Committee offer help to persons who suffered unequal treatment, conduct explanatory interviews with persons who violate the principle of equal treatment, and, if necessary, initiate disciplinary proceedings against the persons who have committed the act of discrimination.

Reports made to the Committee are anonymous.

Important websites:

The Rector of the University of Warsaw on 28 February 2024 signed an ordinance on the policy against unequal treatment, discrimination, mobbing and other undesirable behaviour at the University of Warsaw.
