Dormitories in 2022/2023 academic year

The end of the summer semester does not only mean the examination session, but it is also the time to apply for a dormitory place. Here are some essential information about the procedure and deadlines.

1. Form of submitting the application

The application for a place in the student dormitory should be submitted via the USOSweb.

After logging in to the USOSweb (remember not to use the faculty USOSweb for this purpose!), select: For all, then: Applications, next: Application for a place at the UW student dormitory.

2. Deadlines for submitting applications for students

The application for a place in the student dormitory for the academic year 2022/2023 can be submitted:

• from 1^st July 2022 – current students and doctoral students, as well as doctoral students admitted to the first year at the Doctoral Schools
• from 22^nd July, 2022 – students admitted to the first year of all types of studies.

Important note: Do not postpone the submission of your application. Applications will be verified and considered in the order in which they were submitted. Participation in the allocation round is guaranteed only to those who submit an application no later than 14 days before the specific round. This means that applications submitted at a later date may take part in a given round, but this is no longer guaranteed.

3. Time limits for assigning places

Dormitory places are allocated only on the days of each round. Applications for a place in the student dormitory will be considered on the following dates:

a) ROUND I: July 25^th, 2022 – current students and doctoral students (also for students of the 3rd year of first-cycle studies who plan to continue their studies at the University of Warsaw);

b) ROUND II: August 19^th, 2022 – students admitted to the first year of all types of studies (uniform master’s degree, first and second cycle studies);

c) ROUND IIa: August 31^st, 2022 – doctoral students admitted to the first year of education at the Doctoral School;

d) ROUND III and IV: September 9^th and 23^rd, 2022 – in the case of vacancies, all students and doctoral students who applied through the USOSweb for the re-allocation of a place.

The Student Welfare and Support Office does not exchange places. They are only possible through the exchange in the USOSweb (from 6^th July to 14^th September 2022).

4. Accommodation certificate for visa

Visa certificates will only be issued on Fridays. The need for a certificate must be submitted by Thursday noon in order to receive the certificate in the given week. Informing the office about the need to issue a certificate after 12:00 on Thursday means that the certificate will be issued the following week.
