The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) announced an open call for the Banach Scholarship Programme. The scholarship is intended for candidates from developing countries who wish to take up master degree studies in Poland in the 2021/2022 academic year. Application deadline: 21st June 2021.
The Banach Scholarship is dedicated to citizens of: Albania, Angola, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Palestine, Peru, the Philippines, Senegal, Serbia, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
The Programme offers the scholarship for full-time second-cycle studies conducted in Polish or English at the universities supervised by the Minister of Education and Science in the field of engineering and technical sciences, agricultural sciences as well as natural sciences.
For the citizens of the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Moldova, Serbia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan the Programme offers opportunity to complete second-cycle studies also in the field of humanities and social sciences, with the exception of philological studies in the field of the mother tongue of the beneficiary’s country of origin.
Candidates can choose from public and non-public universities supervised by the Minister of Education and Science, listed on the NAWA’s website. The choice of the educational path shall take place at the stage of submitting applications for the Programme.
Beneficiaries of the Programme are exempt from tuition fees at public universities* and receive a monthly scholarship in the amount of PLN 1,500. Additionally, those who choose to study in Polish can take advantage of a preparatory course preceding studies in Poland. For those who wish to study in English, a summer Polish language and culture course is offered.
*The financial conditions of education at non-public universities supervised by the Minister of Education and Science shall be determined by the universities
