This bold and hilarious take on Polish history is full of national myths, noble traditions, and razor-sharp humor. Curious why it’s so beloved? Let’s explore it together!

Workshop Details & Programme

This is a 2-part workshop — you’re welcome to join both sessions (recommended) or just one Friday.

Part 1: Friday, November 21, 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM

  • Screening of the first two episodes of 1670
  • Followed by a lively discussion with mgr Małgorzata Malinowska from the Polonicum Centre UW: Do the show’s stereotypes and humor match your own experiences of Poland and Poles?
  • Expect laughter, cultural insights, clear explanations of Polish traditions, and great company!

Part 2: Friday, November 28, 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM

  • Screening of the third episode of 1670 (also followed by a discussion with mgr Małgorzata Malinowska)
  • Celebrating Andrzejki (featured in the third episode): a short introduction to Polish fortune-telling traditions and a chance to pour wax through a keyhole — a classic Andrzejki activity!
