Our Welcome Days for international students at UW have come to an end, featuring sessions in both Polish and English!
Both Welcome days were opened by the Vice-rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Teaching and Learning – Maciej Raś and the coordinator of Welcome Point – Katarzyna Basisty.
Let’s recap:
- Tips and tricks: New students had the opportunity to gain practical advice on starting their studies from the Welcome Point team.
- Learning Polish: The Polonicum Center introduced their course offerings for anyone interested in learning Polish; you can check it out on their website.
- Support for everyone: We presented the services of the Psychological and Counseling Center (Centrum Pomocy Psychologicznej UW) and the Office for Persons with Disabilities (Biuro ds. Osób z Niepełnosprawnościami). No matter the challenges students face, they can count on professional support and personalized assistance tailored to their needs.
- Sport at UW: A representative from the Physical Education and Sports Department discussed potential avenues for students physical development and sports programs at UW.
- Students also had the chance to explore the activities and inspiring initiatives of the Volunteer Centre for the upcoming year. Join now!
- Mentorship at UW: Students and representatives of the Student Union shared valuable tips and emphasized that support at UW is always within reach, just like the Students Welfare and Support Office for material support, which was also presented at the event.
The days concluded with campus tours, which will now become a new home for our students.
