Foundation Year \u2013 Admission 2026\/2027<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Dear Candidates,
\n<\/strong>
\nThe University of Warsaw offers the unique opportunity to enrol on the Foundation Year, an intensive one-year preparatory course designed for secondary school graduates from and university degree holders looking to enhance their English language proficiency.<\/p>\n

The course aims to prepare participants for degree programmes taught in English in their chosen field within the social sciences, humanities, or sciences<\/strong> at the University of Warsaw.<\/p>\n

The Foundation Year provides a structured learning programme designed to help participants achieve a B2 level<\/strong> of English proficiency \u2013 the minimum level required for admission to English-taught degree programmes at the University of Warsaw.<\/p>\n

Successful completion of the Foundation Year guarantees admission to the selected undergraduate or graduate programme.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please note: participants of the Foundation Year do not hold student status<\/strong>. Student status and a student ID card will be granted in the following academic year (2027\/2028), once participants complete the Foundation Year and are admitted to a degree programme.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

    Course Structure:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    • Intensive English course:<\/strong> 450 hours<\/li>\n
    • Polish language course:<\/strong> 120 hours (114 in-class + 6 asynchronous)<\/li>\n
    • Social Path module:<\/strong> cultural immersion activities (1st semester)<\/li>\n
    • Subject-specific courses:<\/strong> introductory classes in your chosen field \u2013 offered if there are at least 5 participants in the group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Note: If fewer applicants select a given field, participants will receive a reading list to prepare for the entrance exam independently.<\/h3>\n

      • Basic Polish language<\/li>\n
      • Social Path module (introduction to Polish culture, academic life, university facilities, and local environment)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
