We invite you to take part in the screening of Oleksandr Dovzhenko’s film Earth (Zemlya) –

English version below.

Dear friends,
We are pleased to invite you to take part in a screening of Oleksandr Dovzhenko’s film The Land on Wednesday 22 March at noon. The film The Land depicts the first years of collectivization in Ukraine, emphasizing the historical and cultural connection between the Ukrainian peasantry and the cult of the land. The film itself was not accepted by the Soviet censors in those years because it emphasized the conflict between landowners and collectivization processes. It makes no sense to introduce the director and screenwriter Oleksandr Dovzhenko himself because he is a legendary director and a classic of our culture!

Before the screening, there will be a short story about the creation of the film and its idea, and after the screening, you will have the opportunity to share your own impressions! The film is 84 minutes long, so please reserve this time! Before the screening, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a snack table.
