Vaccinations against COVID-19

International students, doctoral students and academics having legal stay in Poland can be vaccinated against COVID-19 on the same basis as Poles – free of charge, according to a vaccination schedule based on age.

Registration for the vaccination is possible from the date specified in the vaccination schedule, after obtaining an e-referral (e-skierowanie). The PESEL number is not required, although it can facilitate the procedure:

  • if you have PESEL number, you receive the e-referral automatically in accordance with the vaccination schedule

Important note: The “pesel” number on your student card does not entitle you to receive an e-referral if it hasn’t been issued by the district office.

  • if you do not have a  PESEL number, you must obtain an e-referral from your primary health care physician. At the earliest, on the day registration for vaccination opens for people in your age.

With the e-referral issued, you can book a date of vaccination in one of three ways:

  • by 24/7 Helpline 989 (press 1, languages: Polish, English, Russian, Ukrainian)
  • through the website pacjent.gov.pl – to use it, you must have a Trusted Profile (Profil zaufany), confirmed e.g. by the bank where you have your account. Assistance of a Polish-speaking person recommended.
  • directly at the vaccination centre – check the map to choose the most convenient spot for you (only in Polish).

Required documents: passport or identity card from your country of origin. You will also need Polish phone number as the system will send you a message confirming the date and place of vaccination.

It is important to use the same identity document at each stage of the vaccination (from the appointment with the doctor through registration to vaccination). Both vaccinations must also take place at the same vaccination centre. Please check carefully the chosen place of vaccination, if it’s close to your residence or has at least a good transport connection. By May 10 you can also register for vaccination at the University Vaccination Point. More information can be found here
